Dan Stander’s battle to fight cancer
Donation protected
My brother, Dan Stander received a disheartening diagnosis on January 8, 2024. Two years removed from overcoming colon cancer that required surgery followed my months of chemotherapy, he was informed that cancer has returned within his liver.
Dan’s expected treatment for his stage IV cancer is longer than his prior battle with 3-4 months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery at either the University of Iowa or Mayo Clinic, and then a longer session of chemotherapy (timeline TBD). Surgery will not be performed until there is a reduction in the concerning spots on his liver. There are still many unknowns around the impact that treatment and surgery may have on his life. Dan is willing to do whatever is necessary to beat this disease.
Your donation will help lessen some of the worries that come with the receipt of this type of news and future uncertainty. His sole focus should be on beating cancer for a second time.
Dan has many people in his corner, including an amazing wife Sarah, three children, two grandchildren (his suitable nickname GrandDan), and countless friends and family members.
May you or your family members never receive this news. Live each day to the fullest and God bless all of you.
