Dana, 53 is too young for Vascular Dementia Fund

Donation protected
Hi my name is Cameron . The youngest of my mother's 2 daughters. My mother Dana Garrison has been recently officially diagnosed with Vascular Dementia March 2,2022 but has been suffering with it undiagnosed since last year . It is a sad result of her high blood pressure and a head injury she sustained years ago .

As we all know March of 2020 changed everyone's lives drastically (pandemic) . My mother worked doing nails and makeup professionally and it really was her passion. She still enjoys watching videos and looking at pictures related to it and lights up looking at her things she has collected over the years .

The entire year from 2020 to 2021 was very hard for her . Then 2021 came around and my mom was no longer really taking care of herself . Starting around February 2021 slowly but really drastically changing In August. She officially stopped working at Capristo's Salon in September . She was losing things a lot, forgetting things very often and suffering from incontinence issues. So we tried to get her doctor's appointments but things were still backed up from Covid so the wait was longer .
After months of waiting and tests and seeing a few different doctors they officially diagnosed my mother with Vascular Dementia. It has progressed to the point where she needs access to care all of the time . She can no longer do things on her own and can be a danger to herself if left alone . We have been fortunate enough that she can still remember her friends and family and talk to everyone . So for that we are truly blessed .
My mother was and luckily still is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off of her back and genuinely not mind at all. She was always thinking of others so much that she did not save any money for herself. She used to joke around and say that it made her feel bad . So that is the unfortunate struggle we have been faced with trying to find her the best care . She wants to relocate to Philadelphia to be closer to me and until I can find a bigger place she would need a memory care facility for her safety and well being .. I have been taking care of her for the last 2 months at her place in Pittsburgh but we do have to move her soon.

I want to thank you in advance for any donations as it really means the world to our family . I also want to say that if you can not donate anything then adding my mother to your thoughts and prayers will mean just as much to us . I really can not stress that enough ..So thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
