Please help Kyle and Dana!

This is Kyle. He's 23. His mom, Dana is one of the most beautiful people I know. She is single, and has made it her full time job to care for her son.


Kyle had a medical mishap at birth and was born blue, with cerebral palsy. He is extremely disabled, but he is accutely aware of his surroundings. He loves being stimulated, so he "talks" his Mom into taking him out, to parks, fairs, shopping malls, or just long walks pushing him in his chair. If she needs to get things done at home, he cries and pesters her until she takes him out. She adores her son.

Dana needs help right now. She just went through a big move with Kyle from California to Utah to be closer to family. She sold her condo in California, and bought a fixer-upper in Utah, but it has massive problems. Kyle's bathroom, shower and entryways throughout their home need remodeling to accommodate Kyle's wheelchair. Currently, she takes him to a nearby hotel to give him a shower. She will also need to lower kitchen countertops. She doesn't have the finances to take that on. When she remodeled her last home it cost $50,000. She said if we can raise $7,000, it would really help.

There were problems hidden in her home during the home inspection include a faulty AC unit and a large hole in the exterior wall (covered with furniture inside and out). Dana has said she would never, ever send Kyle to a home or facility, even for a short time. For short breaks, hiring temporary caregivers for Kyle can cost $20-$30 per hour. If we can help raise some extra funds, hopefully she can get away for an afternoon or evening.

Let's chip in to help Dana get Kyle settled in their new home. I'm hoping we can come up with $7,000, which would just be a small downpayment on the expenses they face. If there are a few dollars available to do so, perhaps Dana can pay Kyle's caregivers so she can take a break for an afternoon or a day or two. Her goal: "Chilling and hiking in some gorgeous place during the day," and "laying and looking at the stars at night."

Whatever we can come up with towards $25,000 for remodeling her home, will be a wonderful blessing for both Dana and Kyle.
