Dana & Kim Benedict House Fire and Medical Expenses

Hi my name is Chris, I am setting up this go fund me page on behalf of Dana and Kim Benedict my aunt and cousin. On December 18, 2024. Kim and Dana's residence in Searchmont exploded and burned to the ground due to a Propane leak. Dana was severely injured during the explosion as he was lighting the pilot light on the furnace. Dana received numerous severe burns and was airlifted to Toronto to the ICU Burn unit. They have lost everything. The house, clothes and all their belongings right before the holidays, The Residence did not have house insurance. I'm asking our great community to come together and help these amazing two individuals. They have given so much to the community of searchmont and surrounding area. Anything helps! UPDATE on Dana. The doctors woke him up. He was able to follow directions with his eyes, but due to his severe pain they sedated him again.

UPDATE - Last night the breathing tube was removed and Dana is breathing on his own. He even spoke a few words. He has extensive burns on his hands, arms and face. The Doctors have started his first round of skin grafts, and treating the burned areas. His road to recovery will be long and arduous, but he is still with us.
