Dana Vargas Post-Covid Assistance

I have created this fundraiser for my good friend Dana, who was hospitalized with a life-threatening case of Covid-19 in April. She and her family could use some financial support during her long-term recovery.

Dana is home now, and her doctors are confident that she will ultimately recover from her illness. But the recovery will take several months, and she is by no means “fine” now; she struggles with considerable pain and exhaustion related to blood clots in her lungs and Covid pneumonia. Her faithful husband Felix has taken on the part time job of handling prescriptions and helping Dana recover while trying to manage his own studies. Dana and Felix have three amazing kids.

Due to the serious nature of her illness and recovery, Dana has been unable to work. This has had a detrimental impact on Dana and Felix’s finances, and they could use some assistance. Dana is the kind of person who helps others and not someone who asks for help. Therefore, I am making an appeal on her behalf because I know that she could use friends who will help support her at this time.

Many people easily help others in the immediate aftermath of catastrophic illness. But the ramifications of such an event can be long-term and it is tempting to lose patience with the need for help over time.
