Medical Support for Dana McBride

Donation protected
Ever since Dana McBride and her family blew into Austin from Oklahoma nearly 30 years ago, she has been building friendships within many communities – including the Austin Waldorf School, Wildflower Unitarian Church, the Austin music and art scenes, and KidsActing.  As a mom, musician, teacher, visual artist, and certified direct care provider for people with Down Syndrome, she has always found ways to provide support and friendship for those in need.

Because of a recent cancer diagnosis, Dana could now use a little help from her friends.  She will require chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.  Thanks to the Medical Assistance Program (MAP), we believe most of her medical expenses will be covered.  But her illness has curtailed her ability to work during the past several weeks, and completing and recovering from the various steps in her treatment plan will take months.

Friends are launching this campaign to raise money to cover necessities so that Dana will not have to continue to worry about how to pay bills while she focuses on rebuilding her health.  Updates will be posted periodically to let you know how she is doing.

We invite you to join in this important effort, and donations of all sizes are welcome.  Please remember that even the smallest of gifts can add up to significant and much-appreciated help.
