Dana's Hand Surgery: Keep the Music Alive
Donation protected
My name is Dana Vernon. I am a 70 year old musician that has dedicated my life to playing the guitar. Recently, I was diagnosed with Dupuytren’s contracture of my left hand which has made it extremely difficult, and soon to be impossible to play anymore. I went and got multiple opinions on the best option to try to fix my hand so I can continue to do what I love. The best and safest option is a procedure with multiple injections that break down the fibers that have wrapped around the tendons of my hand, which would make it so I am able to bed my fingers all the way again and be out of pain. Medicare only covers a fraction of the procedure, and being on social security only, I have been trying to find a way to help raise the funds. The procedure is scheduled in January and is $11,000. Most of which is covered by Medicare, but there is still $3,000 out of pocket that I have to come up with. Any amount helps, and even just the support of my friends and family. God bless you.
