Medicaid asset recovery forcing us to move

Donation protected
I’ll try to keep this short and to the point. My mother signed her home and land (paid off) to me 3 years ago, sadly, last October she suffered from a massive stroke and she passed away July 4th 2019 from complications. Her health insurance wouldn’t cover a long Inpatient stay anywhere, even though she was paralyzed on her left side and her mental state a lot like a child. She required 24/7 care and the only way Medicaid would pick her up and pay for skilled nursing is if the asset (my house) was put back into her name. (They look back as far as 5 years). We assumed we would have time to get the home back into my name before she ever would have passed away, but her health declined rapidly. We hired lawyers for mom and as they should have, they worked for her best interest. Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to purchase the house for what Medicaid is requiring so I had to start looking for an apartment for my daughters and myself. The amount I’m asking for will help with my security deposit, utilities to be turned on and hopefully a few pieces of gently used furniture. I’m at rock bottom with this situation, I remind myself that my mother was helped and I will recover regardless. I have never lived alone but for many reasons, it’s an absolute must. Thank you for reading and considering helping, and if you’re older and own property, research your options. I’ve lost my homestead to PA Medicaid asset recovery.
