Danay Morejon Acevedo

It’s with the heaviest of hearts we mourn the loss of our dearest friend and coworker, Danay. She is fondly remembered as a mother, a daughter, a beloved wife, and a best friend to everyone, especially to those who knew her well.

Danay experienced a serious asthma attack that left her unconscious. After being taken to the hospital, she was placed on a ventilator and put into a coma in an effort to stabilize her condition, but passed shortly after on Saturday, August 8th, 2023. She is survived by her parents, her husband Ivan, and their 7-year old daughter Alexa. It is for them that we raise this money, for both for funeral costs and to provide them a safety net while they take the time they need to heal together as a family.

Danay was ever-patient and never spiteful. Her smile could light up a room. Her infamous cup of coffee could change a bad day into a good one, her love was always unconditional, and to know her was to know what it meant to be cared for, appreciated and truly seen. Always wearing her heart on her sleeve, Danay was the finest example of what it meant to be a good person and this is how we will always remember her.

From the very bottom of our hearts we would like to thank you for contributing what you can to help her family in this difficult time and for offering them your strength, support, and love.

Con el mayor pesar de nuestros corazones lamentamos la pérdida de nuestra querida amiga y compañera de trabajo, Danay. Se la recuerda con cariño como madre, hija, amada esposa y la mejor amiga de todos, especialmente de aquellos que la conocieron bien.

Danay sufrió un grave ataque de asma que la dejó inconsciente. Después de ser llevada al hospital, la colocaron en un ventilador y la pusieron en coma en un esfuerzo por estabilizar su condición, pero falleció poco después, el sábado 8 de agosto de 2023. Le sobreviven sus padres, su esposo Ivan y su hija Alexa de 7 años. Es para ellos que recaudamos este dinero, tanto para los costos del funeral como para brindarles una red de seguridad mientras se toman el tiempo que necesitan para sanar juntos como familia.

Danay fue siempre paciente y nunca rencorosa. Su sonrisa podría iluminar una habitación. Su muy conocida taza de café podía cambiar un mal día en uno bueno, su amor siempre fue incondicional, y conocerla era saber lo que significaba ser cuidada, apreciada y verdaderamente vista. Siempre con el corazón en la mano, Danay fue el mejor ejemplo de lo que significa ser una buena persona y así es como siempre la recordaremos.

Desde el fondo de nuestro corazón queremos agradecerles por contribuir con lo que pueden para ayudar a su familia en este momento difícil y por ofrecerles su fuerza, apoyo y amor.
