DANCE FILM FUNDRAISER - BRAVO DANCE PROJECT

FUNDRAISER PURPOSE

Proceeds of this fundraiser will go toward production funding for a new dance film that is being produced by Bravo Dance Project during their 2022-2023 season. The new film will center on the experience of those in the ADHD community. Donor gifts are available to our generous patrons! Scroll down to DONOR TIERS/DONOR GIFTS for details.

Bravo Dance Project is an arts education nonprofit that exists to foster inclusive conversations about dance as an art form through the offerings of:

K-12 dance education resources;

dance events for all bodies;

community partnerships and collaborations;

A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR

Hey everyone!

We are holding a fundraiser for our upcoming film project that will be produced during the 2022-2023 season. Bravo Dance Project is an arts education nonprofit that aims to make dance accessible for all artists and audiences, and one of the ways we accomplish this mission is by producing dance films that are widely available in a digital format. This means that dance performance is more readily accessed by a wide variety of audiences that belong to rural or underserved communities of people that might not otherwise be able to view dance in another performance setting, such as a theater venue.

A LITTLE HISTORY: DANCE FILMS BY BRAVO DANCE PROJECT (HONORS/AWARDS)

Our previous work in dance film has garnered recognition both nationally and internationally. Bravo Dance Project has been featured at several film festivals and earned awards for dance film, including:

Through our dance film projects to date, Bravo Dance Project has participated in a variety of events, which has afforded widespread reach for greater art appreciation, arts education, and community collaboration opportunities, serving many different populations of artists and audiences. In addition to our participation in film festival events, we were delighted to be featured this summer at the immersive gallery hosted by Stadium Feedback, a Los Angeles-based gallery curating organization that brings artists of many different mediums together. Our dance film, Take Care, was one of their film selections for their inaugural event.

We look forward to many more artistic opportunities with our newest film, which is currently in development for our 2022-2023 season. Your support would mean the world to us!

NEW FILM FOR 2022-2023

Past dance films by Bravo Dance Project have focused on the storytelling of various psychological themes and cultural perspectives of people, including:

Our latest film in development will focus on the experience of those with ADHD. We will develop concepts for choreography and production elements to support ideas about what it’s like to have ADHD and the inherent strengths and challenges of people who are part of the ADHD community. We will conduct fieldwork research and consult with those who are part of the ADHD community (including those with ADHD and their friends and family who may or may not have ADHD) to bring this work to life.

AREAS OF NEED - NEW DANCE FILM PRODUCTION, 2022-2023

Here’s where our wonderful donors come in!

Until now, the Bravo Dance Project team has produced dance films on a shoestring budget, with much of the crew expenses being on a volunteer basis. For this new 2022-2023 film project, we are planning on a realistic budget to offset costs that would ensure an even higher quality standard for things like video editing, set design, costuming, etc.

To make this new film a reality for the 2022-2023 season, we are requesting funds for the following production categories:

Upgrades to video editing software:

We currently are limited in our basic editing software, and a software program with better capabilities would ensure an upgrade in quality for the finished film.

New computer for video editing:

Our current laptop is a seven-year-old dinosaur and renders video projects very slowly (it also shuts down unexpectedly, potentially losing unsaved video clips). We are in need of a computer upgrade specifically for video editing purposes.
