Hi, my name is Holly, and I am a fourth year student at Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh and living in County Clare. After experiencing the vulnerability of our elderly in nursing homes and the challenges faced by them ,their families and the health care workers , it has inspired me to create this gofundme page. These cruel circumstances are very challenging. Causing distress for them and there families. Denying them the dignity they deserve and acknowledging the selfless sacrifices of our health care workers, in bridging that gap and offering such support to both the elderly and their helpless families. There are so many stories of fear, sadness, and tragedy. In addition to the beauty, kindness and unconditional love and support that pours out in times of need. Every number and statistic is a victim, as well as their loved ones. This fundraiser is to aid and support our elderly and help prevent any more to be taken by this cruel and vicious virus.
Please remember, do not exceed 2 km when participating in the challenge, and conduct social distancing. By picking this activity, it’s within the guidelines of 2 km.
All money raised, donates to local nursing homes, so they can get the resources and equipment required to enable them to help our most vulnerable group in our society. Give back a token for all they have done for us by donating for the purchase of tablets and essential PPE gear. They have built and shaped our lives in many forms. They have looked after us when we couldn’t and now it’s our time to look after them when they can’t.
