Dance in the Time of Coronavirus

Dance in the Time of Coronavirus: a series of socially distanced dance performances is the creative brain child of Andee Scott and Amanda Sieradzki, dance-makers in the Tampa Bay Area who are dreaming of ways to re-envision dance performance in the age of social distancing. Scott and Sieradzki believe in the value of live performance and the responsibility of artists to rise to the challenges of our time.
How We Will Use Your Funds
Funds raised in this campaign will directly benefit Tampa Bay Area freelance dancers and artists who are part of the gig-economy and have experienced significant financial losses during this pandemic. A small portion will also contribute towards props, costuming, and space fees for performances. All performances are free to the public and will culminate in different and unique, socially distanced ways throughout the summer.
Why Support Local Dance?
This series emphasizes the importance of building a community for art and artists that reinforces our shared humanity. Our intention is to be as inclusive as possible while taking safe, responsible, and respectful measures. We offer these dances in memoriam of all who have lost their lives, a loved one, a member of their community. We offer these dances in gratitude for all those who are working on the front lines – our heroes named and unnamed who care for and whose work provides for others. We offer these dances as hope for a kinder and more equitable future. Your support means securing that future for dance and live performances well beyond COVID-19's impacts. Please help us to keep moving!
