Dance training & competition travel costs 2023-24

Aloha, my name is Gabriel, I am 14 years old and I have been dancing for 7 years for Pas De Deux Hawaii. I compete in many dance genres (Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, etc.).

I continue to be blessed to receive scholarships and opportunities to dance at different competitions and intensive training all over the country. Though the scholarships cover the classes and fees to attend these opportunities, the travel costs for myself and my adult chaperones can be significant, especially from Hawaii.

Raising these funds will allow me to continue my training and journey of becoming a professional dancer, to represent males in dance, the State of Hawaii, and my teachers, friends and mentors at my home studio, Pas De Deux Hawaii.

November 2022 - Francisco Gella Dance Works Seattle Dance Advance 2022 (Thanksgiving Weekend) in Seattle, WA @ University of Washington

- Intensive Ballet Training for 3 days

December 2022 – The Male Dancer Connection (Christmas Week) in Irvine, CA @ Dmitri Kulev Classical Ballet Academy

- Intensive Male Ballet Training for 5 days

February 2023 - Youth American Grand Prix Regional Competition in Huntington Beach, CA

- Competed in both Classical & Contemporary

o Contemporary Dance Category – 1st Place Winner!!!

- Received a 100% Scholarship to attend the 5-week Colorado Ballet Academy Summer Intensive

- Received a 50% Scholarship to attend the 1-week Colorado Ballet Academy Summer Choreographic Workshop

February 2023 – 24 Seven Dance Convention in Anaheim, CA

- 4th Place Overall (Male and Female Combined – Top Male Dancer)

April 2023 – New York City Dance Alliance (NYCDA) Regional Competition in Dallas, TX

- Competed his Classical Ballet and Musical Theatre Numbers

- 8th Place Overall (Male and Female Combined - 2nd overall Male Dancer)

May 2023 – Starpower National Talent Competition

- Teen Mr. Starpower

- 3rd Place Overall (Male and Female Combined – Age 12-14 Level 3 Solo – Top Male Dancer)

June 2023 – JUMP Honolulu

- 4th Place Overall (Male and Female Combined – Teen Solo – Top Male Dancer) – Highest Teen Score from Hawaii!!!

June 2023 – Spotlight Cup Honolulu

- Overall, Diamond Winner!!! - Elite Gems – Teen ~ Solo/Duo/Trio

June/July 2023 – The Dance Awards Nationals in Las Vegas, NV

- You Rock Jump! Adjudicated Award for Musical Theatre

- Diamond Adjudicated Award for Classical Ballet

- National Top 10 Teen Male

July 2023 – Colorado Ballet Academy Summer Intensive

- Awarded a 50% Scholarship to the Colorado Ballet Academy Preprofessional Year-long Program
