"A Christmas Carol" by Dance DelBello
Who doesn't remember Tiny Tim and Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens' classic tale, "A Christmas Carol?" You may have seen the movie or read the book, but have you seen the ballet version by Dance DelBello?
In the more than 25 years that Dance DelBello has presented the ballet, it has touched the hearts of the audiences who have seen it and those involved in its production. After all this time the costumes so lovingly created by our long-time costumer, E. Huntington Parker (Hunter to those who knew him), are showing their age and need to be replaced. Prior to Hunter's recent passing we vowed to him to undertake this task.
Please allow us to keep our promise to Hunter and help meet the other production costs of this acclaimed ballet.
Dance DelBello's production of "A Christmas Carol" is an adaptation of Dickens' classic story of redemption and the celebration of family. Choreographed by David Kloss, Philadelphia native and founding member of the Pennsylvania Ballet Company, the three act ballet is set to the music of British composer Benjamin Britten.
David Kloss' choreography makes the Dickens characters come to life. His adaptation has been critically acclaimed by Charles Dickens' very own great-great-grandson as "a brilliant interpretation, a very happy occasion!" "A Christmas Carol" is a beautiful ballet that takes you on Ebenezer's journey.
