Doug Fox Memorial

Forty-six-year-old Doug Fox's younger brother has created a fundraiser to assist his wife and children during this difficult time. We lost a great man on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 8:44 pm inside South Bend, Indiana's Memorial Hospital. Unfortunately, he suffered a stroke while battling health issues and awaiting a transplant. He was in and out of the hospital for more than a year, and substantial medical bills have accumulated. Doug was a selfless human being throughout his entire life - even while reeling from the death of his Father at a very early age in 1989 - to his last breath. Doug was an organ donor, and in conjunction with the Indiana Organ Donor Network, he was able to assist in extending the life of several others. He is survived by his amazing wife of only four short months, four amazing children, four fantastic step-children and eight sweet step-grandchildren.

Doug was affectionately know as "Dancin' Doug Fox." He earned that nickname from a longtime track announcer because he was animated in the flag stand; those moves transferred to the pit area and the dance floor.

Around the Michiana racing circuit, Doug was well-known in the flag stand and behind the wheel! He was a top competitor in the Enduro, Thundercar, Front Wheel Drive and Street Stock divisions - battling for race wins and championships. Doug was always wheeling a number 44 car somewhere. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need, including his closest competitors.

During their end-of-season speedway cruises, Doug Fox would be on a first-name basis with the entire cruise ship, including staff, by the end of the cruise. He just had that type of personality. Doug was the life of the party!
