Dane Stephen Turnmeyer, 13, was granted his angel wings on September 3, 2016.
His final days were spent surrounded by his family and friends, whose lives he profoundly impacted, throughout his brief, yet memorable life. Dane was born March 21, 2003 with a congenital heart defect. Even though his short life included three open heart surgeries and a future plan to receive a new heart, Dane lived life to the fullest, never limiting himself and reminded us daily "He could do it". He LOVED sports and everything they encompassed-not only playing, but encouraging others on the sidelines.
Dane loved the outdoors, and loved to hunt and fish every opportunity he could. Dane Turnmeyer was our own personal "Superman," showing us in his actions and attitude what a true Hero looks like. Dane's heart was HUGE and filled with a love for Jesus and others, generosity, and compassion. The impact he had on others was incredible. Although his life was much too short, those who were touched by him understood that the quality of his existence far exceeded the quantity of time we had with him. While we will miss him each and every day, we know he is flying high in the skies of heaven and we cannot wait to see him again one day.
