If you haven’t heard, former life traumas were resurfaced for my family this past week. Chris and his sister, Dani, as well as the rest of their family, lost everything they owned in a house fire at a very young age. Toys, clothes, memories…everything was gone. Over 20 years have passed, and this past week these awful memories are all too real.
Late Tuesday evening this past week Dani and her boyfriend, Cody, were awakened by the panicking noise of the smoke alarm in their house. By the time the alarm woke them up, visibility was almost completely gone because of all the smoke. Dani had experienced this before, the emotions of dealing with this situation as it is happening I could not even begin to understand.
In just minutes, everything was gone. Dani and Cody were able to make it out of the house safely. After several attempts to rescue their cat(King), and their dog(Nova), both animals lost their lives in the fire. They did not make it.
The house was a total loss. Everything burned. Photos, family heirlooms, clothes, furniture, appliances, the kids Heidi and Harper lost all of their clothes, toys, beds, and most importantly their memories. The mental image of seeing in person the complete loss Dani and Cody have experienced, it is something I will never forget.
Dani and Cody need help getting back on their feet. They have no clothing, no toiletries, no identification, no appliances, no furniture, no food, they lost literally everything. Whatever you feel led to give, if anything, is greatly appreciated. This is an experience these two will never forget, as well as for their family reliving this experience alongside them. All proceeds will go towards clothing, food, appliances for their new home, everything the kids need and furniture for their new home.
I have attached the link to the article covering the fire below.
