Hello family and dear friends,

Life has taken us on an incredible journey over the past year, filled with major decisions and life-changing moments. We walked away from an 8-year travel contract job, relocated to Arkansas, started a tintype business, bought a home, and welcomed our beautiful daughter, Harvest Hanora Schiel, into the world. It's been a whirlwind of excitement, growth, and challenges.

In November 2022, we quit our road contracting job and started making plans for what would come next. Come January 2022, we found out we were expecting, and by March, we had moved to the charming town of Chester, Arkansas, with dreams of building a tintype photography business and creating a stable home for our little one. The journey led us to my sister's lovely hotel, the Beard and Lady Inn, where I delved into tintype photography, and Rebecca, even at 9 months pregnant, was an integral part of the inn. Fast forward to the end of September, we found a cozy home just in time for Harvest's arrival. She brings us immense joy and is the biggest blessing we could have ever asked for. However, as we've navigated these big changes, the financial strain has become more challenging than expected.

Rebecca still works part-time at the Beard and Lady Inn while being a full-time mom, and I've been building our tintype business since April. While the business is growing, our financial cushion has run out, and the past month has been particularly tough. To get back on track, I'm actively seeking a full-time position that can cover our essential needs.

We currently have $2500 in past due utilities and bills, with an additional $1500 due in a weeks time. Our regular bank account is deep in the negative, and we're reaching out for help. On my end, I’ve decided to take on a full-time position to stabilize our situation, but we need assistance to cover the immediate financial hurdles.

I knew the changes would be hard, but I had no idea we’d find ourselves in a position we couldn’t handle on our own. I’ve struggled with feelings of shame and fear of the perception from family and friends, but I really believe in the strength of community and turning to those we trust in times of need. Your support, whether through contributions or sharing this post, is deeply appreciated. We understand that not everyone can help, and that's okay.

Thank you all for being a part of our lives. We love you.
