Daniel Roach was found the morning of June 5th in the downtown area of Dallas. He was beaten severely and left in a mud puddle filled with pesticides and fertilizers. His job was just blocks away. Upon arriving at the hospital, he was unable to breath on his own. He was put into a medically induced coma, placed on a ventilator, and admitted into ICU. The chemicals damaged both his kidneys and liver. The liver has stabilized, but he requires dialysis indefinitely.
Upon weaning him off of sedation, the doctors noted that he was not waking up well at all. With a great deal of sensory stimulation from those closest to him(giving up wasn’t an option in our minds,) Daniel awoke on June 15th!!!
Along with the kidney damage, Daniel has sustained not only brain injury from the beating, but he also has some brain damage due to a lack of oxygen to the brain before he was found.
At this point, we are looking at an extensive recovery time ahead. He was the bread-winner for he and Terry’s family. They are in desperate need of funds or medical costs and to pay for living expenses.
