Donate to help Daniel Askew and his family

Hello everyone, my name is Paige Sutherland. My daughter’s team mate and friend’s father is in need of our support.

I am fundraising to support Daniel Askew and his family during this time of need. Daniel has been hospitalised for just over 22 days at this point due to an unprovoked brutal attack on August 18th. We currently do not know when he will be released from hospital.

In addition to fighting to keep his kidney Daniel’s body is still trying to recover from a lacerated liver and a collapsed lung. At this time it is uncertain if he will have permanent nerve damage down his thigh due as a result of the damage to his spine. Needless to say Daniel will have a long road to recovery ahead of him and life may never be the same.

Daniel is a family man, he has three children Aiden, Day’Trell and Ny’Aijah and a loving partner Chantelle Field. They are a very active and close knit family.

In these past three weeks Daniel’s shown incredible strength and resilience fighting for his life. His partner Chantelle has been by his side the whole time while still managing to care for and keep her children’s lives as normal as possible. Recent surgery is giving us hope that he will be able to keep his kidney.

Unfortunately Chantelle was advised only a week prior to the incident that she is losing her job due to someone with higher seniority taking her position. And she has been unable to work since the incident as she has barely left Daniel’s side. Daniel started a moving company this past spring and unfortunately it will be quite some time before he will be able to do any heavy lifting or physical activity to that extend, leaving him without pay check as well. The financial burden this family is under is extreme. I am hoping we can fundraise enough funds to help cover their rent and monthly bills for two to three months while Daniel recovers and the family heals following this tragic incident.
