Daniel, Fabian, Lilian and Daniela Gonzalez

My name is Luis Gonzalez-Quizhpe and I am the cousin of Daniel, Fabian, Lilian and Daniela Gonzalez-Gonzalez.

On December 16th, our family faced a great loss. At around 9:00 PM, my cousins were driving to my aunt and uncle's residence when they were struck head-on by a driver, who is believed to have been intoxicated, going the wrong way on the highway in Weyauwega, Wisconsin. Fabian, Lilian, and Daniela died at the scene, and Daniel succumbed to his wounds at the hospital on December 17.

At this moment, the crash is still under investigation and a funeral date has not yet been set. A formal obituary will follow.

My cousins were loved by all who knew them, both in Wisconsin and in our Indigenous community of Saraguro, Ecuador where my family is originally from. Daniel (25) and Fabian (23) served as milk technicians in a local dairy farm in Washara County, enjoyed playing traditional Andean music with their uncles, cousins, and friends, and frequenting Culver's with their siblings and cousins. Lilian (14) and Daniela (9) were in 9th and 4th grade, respectively, and enjoyed going to school, going back to Ecuador to visit their family, and making TikTok shorts for fun.

They are survived by their mother, Paulina Gonzalez-Medina, their father Anibal Gonzalez, and their loving step-father Kurt Schilling, as well as their eldest brother, Jorge Fernando Gonzalez, their niece, Valery, and step-siblings Bethany, Sam, Noah, and Hannah. They have gone far too soon, and our family will miss them terribly.

With the blessing of my aunts and uncles, I have created this GoFund Me to help them cover the costs for funeral services in Wisconsin and Ecuador, repatriation processes to bring all four of my cousins back to Ecuador, and any unforeseen costs associated with laying my cousins to rest.
