William Daniel Faulk lived a good life.

He was married twice to 2 wonderful women who both loved him in different ways. He loved all of his kids, even the furry and scaly ones. Over the years, Danny & Christina added to our combined family by helping young people find their way out bad situations.

He loved his family, Alabama football, chess, outer space, animals, Star Wars, the mountains, sneaking his kids out of school to go see Star Trek on test day, and playing in the snow.

He meant the world to his family, as a father should. Not long ago, he became ill and kept getting sicker. Multiple doctors missed his real diagnosis, but he continued to look for help.

After 2 years of being told he was not sick, exhausting all of his retirement, and savings trying to get help, he got an answer.

He had an extremely rare brain tumor pressing on his brain stem.

While he waited for an appointment in another state with a specialist (no one in his state would risk surgery), his health declined rapidly. He quickly lost the ability to walk and eventually the ability eat. Before the doctor appointment, he ended up being flown via life flight to Texas where the specialist was. Only then, did doctors realize he would get a completely different diagnosis. It was not a tumor at all but a giant aneurysm!

By this time, the damage was so significant that his body began to shut down. He needed surgery to fix the aneurysm but was too fragile for the surgery. He needed time and help ....but the world runs on money, so his health further declined while he fought to stay alive. He was in and out of the ICU for nearly 2 months and amassed an obscene amount of medical debt but it was worth it to save his life and keep our dad with us.

Sadly, there just wasn’t enough time by the time he was correctly diagnosed. After fighting so hard for so long, his body just couldn’t fight anymore. He passed away on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024; while his wife and best friend, Christina, held his hand. He did not die alone as he had always feared he might.

After such a fight for life, his family is now left with nothing. Assets will be tied in probate for however long it takes for the hospitals to get some small part of his debt repaid. This is leaving nothing for his widow who is herself disabled and not receiving SSI benefits.

I am asking the public to help our family to bring our loved one home from Texas, to help us cremate his remains, and to help his wife with legal fees and the cost of starting over without the income he provided.

Thank you for taking the time to read this request and about our family.

The funds will be used for
- cremation costs
- transportation of remains
- funeral fees
- legal fees
- hospital debts
- helping his widow begin again and get through this hard time

Unexpected deaths happen to so many and all are left to pick up the pieces. Please help our family care for him and his widow. If you can’t donate, please share.

Hug your loved ones Do not stay angry over petty misgivings. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. May you always depart on good terms with your friends and loved ones.

It may be the last chance you will ever have.
