a non for profit reached out and is gifting us this chair! I appreciate everyone helping and I’ll put this toward our wheel chair accessible vehicle. I am so grateful.
Hello friends and family. Danny is now 6 1/2 years old and he is one tall boy. Because of his smooth brain, he has absolutely no muscle tone and not very much head and neck strength. Back when he was one, I bought the Firefly GoTo seat size 1 with money you all donated to us when he was first diagnosed. It was around $1600. Well, he is way to big for this chair and I’ve decided we could use a new one.
When we went to Florida for Make a Wish, they provided us with a five point harness strap that we strapped around the back of the plane seat. However, it provided no support and he was sliding down the entire flight. I don’t have the ability to drag his car seat due to all of his other equipment and our luggage. Plus, this GoTo seat can be used in our beach wagon and it’s easy to bring all over if I can’t take his wheelchair or if he needs a break from the wheelchair. Actually, we have a camper and I have nothing to put him in when we use
our camper because of course the wheelchair doesn’t fit well in there.
But, the main reason I need it now is because we are taking a flight to visit my parents in January. Danny has never gone to see my parents. This is our first full family trip since they moved there in 2020. This seat can be used on the plane, on the beach and in their house. Insurance only covers one chair a year and that chair will forever be his wheelchair because it’s the most expensive at $13,000. Right now, I do not want to dip in his savings because we need to prepare for a wheelchair accessible van in the near future. I decided to ask you for support as a Christmas gift to Danny. It would mean the world if we got even half the support for the chair. Thank you for taking time to read this. All my love to you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Lastly, I plan to donate the smaller chair instead of trying to sell it.
Here is a link and a picture of the chair.
