Update on Big Dan . He had another changing and cleaning. The grafting took about 90% so they are hoping the other 10% will heal on its own. He still has wound vac’s on to help with the healing. The Dr’s will do another changing on Monday and see where he is at. He took a little walk today and it took everything out of him and he is having a hard time walking. We still have a long road ahead of us and lots of pt. The Dr’s are trying to keep him as comfortable the best them can . We will have to make some changes in his life but we are taking one day at a time. We want to Thank each and everyone of you ❤️‍❤️‍

Dan’s fall. 6/5/22

YOU ALL KNOW HOW STUBBORN DAN CAN BE !!!!!!

We can only imagian whatthese bills are going to be. 3 emergency room visits @ 8 hours + in 4 days, a 3 hour ride in the ambulance to Vegas Trauma Burn Center, 30 days + in the Burn Unit, 5-7 more days staying in Vegas for Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation, cleaning and changing of the wound sites. Then when he gets home he will be going to a wound care facility for more treatments. This is going to be a long road and we are taking it one day at a time.

He has decided it’s time I let everyone know what is going on. He fell on 6/5 ( Twice on this day ). He was setting on hot sand ( for 20 minutes ) that was at a temp of 140. He was trying to scoot on his butt to get to the truck door .He was in the ER 3 different times over 4 days. He has 2nd & 3rd degree burns on his leg and bottom. He was then transported to Vegas burn center on 6/9 and he went under his first surgery on 6/10 . He had his 2nd surgery on 6/15. At this moment he is looking at 1 if not 2 more surgeries. He can’t set or put any pressure on him butt and leg so he has to lay on his side for now. After he gets released from the hospital he will still have to stay in Vegas for 5-7 days for dressing changes, pt and rehabilitation. After that he will do all follow ups at the wound clinic closer to home. Sadly my hubby will be out of commission for several weeks trying to get himself back up on his feet. He is having good and bad day’s and in lots of pain. and he gets tired very easy. I will keep you updated on his progress. Please keep him in your prayers.

Up date on Dan …..

Dan had another surgery on his leg and it is rejecting the grafting so they are going to watch it over the next couple of days to see what it does but most likely they will be taking the grafting off ( means another surgery ). They also did some more surgery on his other burn area, they cut out more dead cells this time from the muscles. The cadaver decided it didn’t want to play anymore either so off it had to come. The have a wound vac on him at the moment til they go back in for surgery in 3 days. Dr. Said anywhere from 2-3 more surgeries. They are getting him up a little bit and having him walk and set in a chair.

All of you that know Dan knows he is stubborn but he is hanging in there.

He told me this morning the food taste like ASS - He want’s a BEER - He want’s to wash his hair….. This man is keeping me on my toes and I love him to the moon and back. He has good days and bad days (a lot ) but I keep telling him one day at a time. Thank you all for your prayers. We love you all

6/27/22

19 days in the hospital is not fun. Dr has looked at his leg again and the grafting has taken to about 1/2 of his leg so they are going to leave it alone and let Mother Nature take her course. Dan still has the wound vac on his bottom and they will be doing a complete cleaning on Tuesday . This will let us know what the progress is and what the next step will be. If there is no more dead stuff to be cut out they will graft it on Wednesday, if they do find more dead stuff then they will do another surgery. He is still in a lot of pain but keeping his spirits up.
