Dan died early Sunday (4/7/19) in his sleep from a blockage in his left anterior descending (LAD) artery in his heart. He was 67 years old.

Dan's death was sudden, with no prior indications of this health issue.

Dan had just completed another event as Robot Inspector for the FIRST Robotics West Regional Competition Saturday night, an organization he loved and for which he volunteered for the last 17 years. Dan was known for his kindness and generosity, a man who has literally given the shirt off of his back and given his last dollar to help others. He dedicated the latter years of his life to sharing his knowledge and experience through volunteer work, mentoring future engineers with FIRST Robotics, teaching wilderness survival in the Boy Scouts of America, and participating with his trumpet in the church band at Saint Timothy's Catholic Community, to name only a few of his passions for giving.

Services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery on Tuesday April 16th at 11:00am in the Chapel with full military honors for Dan's 25-year service in the United States Army. This will be a modest service, and we ask that in lieu of flowers, to consider contributing through this GoFundMe page. There will not be placement for flowers available.

This GoFundMe page has been established to help ease the financial burden on the family associated with final services. The established goal reflects a portion of the cost for transportation, autopsy, cremation, funeral, and entombment.
