Daniel LeCompte Hockey Fundraiser
A message to my future hockey fans!
Hello, my name is Daniel, and I just graduated high school. I just got accepted into Georgia State University, and on the same day, I got accepted to play for the Boston JR Bruins in the USPHL. They scouted me after learning I was offensive player of the year for the entire state of Georgia. Just to give you a backstory on me, I was diagnosed with Autism, Tourette syndrome, and OCD in elementary school. That was the same time my mom found the North Metro Miracle League and started to receive tickets to the Atlanta Thrashers. That is when I fell in love with hockey.
During that time, I worked hard enough to be taken out of special needs classes in early elementary school, and graduate highschool on time with the best support from my family. The only problem is that my mom is a single mother that has been trying her best to provide what she can. Neither one of us expected the $10,000 they asked me for to start this program, and that is to start without a try out. She is a decorated Paramedic who has been on the frontlines in Georgia for around 14 years. I’m lucky enough to have a mom that has raised three wonderful men, managed to focus on me enough to bring me to speech and physical therapy, and get me to where I am today.
As a man, I cannot ask her for more than she has given to me. I need to raise $10,000 to play this season for the Boston JR Bruins. I’ve worked so hard to get to this point in my life and in my hockey career. For me to finish highschool, work a full time job, and play hockey wasn't easy at all. I pushed through and made it possible. I tell myself anything is possible as long as you believe.
I’ve always told myself, if I give up here, right now, it’s 100% not going to happen. I know as long as you give the effort all dreams are possible to come true. I have always been a person who focuses on themselves. Meaning, I focused on my studies. I focus on being in the best possible mental and physical health to play the sport I love. I want to be in this sport for as long as they let me be out on that ice. I just need some help for now so that I can continue to do the thing that gives me the most purpose. Any donation will be the best donation. Thank you for your time, and God Bless.
