Help Daniel Oster in his fight against Multiple Myeloma
Donation protected
Our dear friend Daniel Oster has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. The diagnosis came about after and anomaly was found during routine blood work. It was entirely unexpected and has caught him and his wife, Wendy off guard. Because of the nature of this type of cancer, the treatment is very aggressive. Daniel will be unable to work for the next year while he undergoes both chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.
Dan and Wendy are no strangers to adversity. Three years ago, they made the decision to sell their home in Porter to build a home on their property in Steep Falls. It wasn't until after their house sold that they discovered the\ere was no access traditional power sources on or to their new property. While this discovery provided them with a challenge, they refused to let it get them down. they researched their options and persevered. They now enjoy the freedom of off-grid living in the wilderness of Southern Maine. Dan and Wendy have been members of the Lake Region Jeepers and the local Jeep community for several years. In that time they have played an active role in many of the rides, activities and fundraisers the Jeep club has been involved in.
Dan has been a professional in the field of industrial robotics for the past years. Five years ago, he took the leap to self-employment. Because of the specialized nature of industrial robotics, there is a great deal of travel required, often internationally. While there are many benefits of self-employment, job security in the face of a major illness is not one of them. We, a group of friends and family, have banded together to create this Go Fund Me page and other fundraising events, for example a chance to win an amazing Jeep and other items. Information can be found on the Facebook page, Topless for a Cause, to help ease the financial burden and medical costs for Dan and Wendy.
