Dan Stauber passed away Feb 3, 2020 at 16 years old. Three months away from his 17th birthday. He was a junior at Bedford High School, and had just received his drivers license and his own car. His sudden death was unexpected and sadly his cause of death remains undetermined officially, but we speculate it was caused by an undetected, genetic heart defect that results in sudden death. There was absolutely nothing anyone could have done as genetic tests are not typically done on children.
Dan was a kind, happy kid who loved to laugh and make others smile. He enjoyed playing video games especially Splatoon, enjoyed playing Magic The Gathering with his friends at school and at the local comics books store. He was very competitive with gaming. He worked at Market Basket part time, liked to ski with his school, attending Hapkido with his dad, was a member of Boy Scouts Troop 114 here in Bedford, attended LARP for three years at BHS , Robotics and game club. He loved people, playing with dogs and liked to engage his friends and family in whatever topic he felt passionate about. Not only was Dan a kind, considerate kid with high integrity and a passion for life he had a positive attitude that was infectious.
Thank you for your support toward the Daniel Stauber Scholarship Fund.
