Daniel "Unko Danny" Almonte Aid

***7/15/2023 Update***

It's been a week since this was started, and your aloha and kokua have made this battle so much easier for Uncle. His first surgery was this week, and it went as well as could be expected. He is recovering right now in the hospital, and they plan on running some more tests as soon as he gets his strength up. From here there are options, but pending the labs and tests, he is hoping to return home to the big island next week to try and recover more before undergoing any more surgeries if that is going to be the next step. Aloha everyone, thank you for checking in on our favorite surfer/musician. I am setting this up for the Almontes so that they may get some kind of relief during this frightening and stressful time. Between traveling back and forth from Oahu, and not working from being bedridden, there has been and will be a severe financial strain on them, and will continue to do so until Danny is released from the hospital (realistically, sometime after too as he recovers). As you can imagine, with how active he is, he's having a rough time staying in bed and is restless, but he is in good spirits so far, and your aloha and love is helping him stay that way.

Daniel had a heart attack sometime in the past month, and has been almost completely bedridden. He thought he caught covid or some other ailment and did not seek medical attention immediately. His heart is now in critical condition, and he is on Oahu right now fighting for his life. We are waiting for a specialist to check in with him to see what the next step in treatment will be, but for now we are just left with more questions than answers. Currently, he is looking at getting a multiple bipass surgery, but his heart is in a weak and damaged state right now, so we are hoping to hear from the speciailist soon, and anxiously waiting on what the next step will be.

I will do my best in keeping updates as often as I get them, and you can always check in with me or Danny jr if you have questions or need to get ahold of him. Anything helps them at this, even the smallest of donations.
