Dear Friends and Family,

On Saturday August 12th, we lost Dan, a loving father, caring brother, and beloved friend, unexpectedly. As we navigate through this devastating loss, I have taken on the responsibility of raising Dan's wonderful daughter, my niece, Ciera.

We are setting up this GoFundMe to ask for your support during this trying time. We have several unforeseen expenses that are quickly mounting:

1. We want to give Dan the dignified and heartfelt farewell that he deserves. The funds for this will cover his cremation costs and the memorial service we plan to hold in his honor.

2. With the sudden loss of her father, Ciera’s life has changed overnight. Your support will help ensure she has what she needs to grow — from daily living expenses to education.

3. To secure the best future for Ciera, I will need to work with a family law attorney. This is to ensure that her living situation is stable and her rights are protected.

4. As we grieve Dan's loss, we are also incurring unexpected expenses that we are not prepared for. This includes counseling and time I need to take off work to support Ciera and arrange Dan's affairs.
