Daniela's Surgery

In May of 2009, while traveling at highway speeds, Daniela Gutierrez was in a terrible car accident with her two very young children. Luckily, they all survive mostly unscathed. However, Daniela developed chronic back/neck/shoulder pain. For years, she experimented with electronic stimulation, chiropractic threatments, and physical therapies, to no avail.
Unfortunately this October 2016, Daniela and her son were involved in another car accident when they were T-boned at an intersection. Their car was totalled but luckily they both walked away with bumps and scrapes. This second accident exacerbated Daniela's previous injury. Through a host of testing, it was determined that she suffers from a heriated disk, overgrowth of bone and severe spinal stenosis which has resulted in severe nerve damage.
Because of the rapid degeneration of her condition, since the 2nd car accident, surgery is imminent and inevitable. However, as grateful as Daniela is to have health insurance, it does not cover everything. Being the only parent able to provide for her two beautiful children, dosen't allow the financial excess to save up for surgery. Let alone account for lost wages, bills and extra childcare during the recovery time from surgery. (Also, expensive physical therapy).
Time is critical for this surgery. The longer Daniela waits for surgery, the greater the risk of permanent, irreversible damage. At any point in time, she could experience possible paralyzation resulting in full disability. Not to mention, the daily chronic, terrible pain she experiences. It has increased to the point where holding objects such as a holding a hairbrush has become difficult.
