People let me tell you ‘bout my best friend…

Danielle Petersen Rachel-my little sister, mother to Edith Brooke, also beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin and much-needed citizen of the Earth.

Those who know Danielle know she is a fierce friend. An advocate par none. Got a project? She’ll connect you with the best people. Wanna sell that thingamajig you've had hanging around forever? Call Danielle. Wayward child needs a home? Of course, for how long? Displaced from a hurricane, she’ll simply ask, “What do you need?” That’s all it takes and she’s on the job. It’s hard to describe how it feels to have Danielle in your corner, except to say if you know, you know. And if you don't, I hope you have an opportunity to bask in her attention.

What many of you don’t know is that in August 2021 our Danielle was diagnosed with Stage 3C Ovarian cancer. Danielle is a very private and proud person and chose to keep her diagnosis and treatment on the down low for personal and professional reasons. Over the last 22 months, Danielle has faced 3 different chemotherapies, all initially offering hope, only to stop working. She has just embarked on a new Clinical Trial in Sarasota and we are hopeful this one is the right one. Danielle has managed this heavy diagnosis with her amazing grace, humor and a positive attitude and has navigated her treatments, surgeries, and side effects, with the help of close family and friends. She was even selling jobs in the hospital, just hours after major surgery.

To add insult to injury, this winter Danielle was immediately and inexplicably dismissed from a job in which she has been a national top producer in the eight years she held the position. The good news: she has landed a job with a new company. The bad news: the financial burden of fighting cancer has caught up with Danielle. Between the gap in earnings, coupled with treatments and trials, exorbitant medical expenses and challenging side effects, she finds herself unable to meet her financial needs. She has dealt with a major hit to her eyesight, terrible fatigue, excruciating bone pain, and mouth sores, to name a few, plus facing the absolute unknowable reality of having the Big C without asking for help. So, I’m asking for her!

Please consider donating (and sharing this fundraiser) so Danielle can focus on her health and not worry about the bills. Every little bit helps.

Many thanks,

denise and the Petersen family
