The Chester Historical Society's  (CHS) mission is to promote the rich heritage of the Village and Town of Chester, New York through the acquisition, restoration and preservation of its historical places, documents and recordings of oral history; provide educational programs for school children, community organizations and all those individuals interested in local folklore and history; and exhibit collections of artifacts, pictures, newspapers and recorded oral histories to the general public.

Sadly, due to COVID 19,  it was decided that for the safety of our members and our community we had to cancel all fundraising  efforts this year; including both the Spring Yard Sale and the Autumn Penny Social. With the cancellation of these two fundraisers, the Society will be losing approximately $2,500 to $3,000 in revenue.

The funds raised are used to not only keep the museum open but they also cover the cost for insurance, utilities, phone, and archival materials. The station's roof and gutters are also in dire need of repair.  As such,  the loss of revenue causes us great concern.

We ask that you join us in making a difference.  Please consider making a donation to benefit the Chester Historical Society.  Any donation will help make a significant impact in the  preservation of the museum and all the wonderful programs that are offered.

The Chester Historical Society's members thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the community!
