Danielle’s fight! Bone Cancer Chondrosarcoma

My YouTube Instagram Thanks for looking at my page - my name is Danielle I live in Essex and I have a rare form of Bone Cancer called chondrosarcoma- this affects your bone and cartilage. I am 34 but was diagnosed in 2017 and had a 20cm tumour removed from my right thigh - my first surgery seemed to go well but we later found out my tumour  split during an 8 and half hour surgery to remove it. This caused the cancer to return and I had my second surgery to remove two new tumours in jan 2019 - all my tumours  had grade 2 and were described as fast growing and aggressive. This cancer is so rare that there are no chemotherapy or radiotherapy options for my type and it and I am on 3 month scans and chest X-rays as this type can easily mestastisize to your  lungs, there is no current standard treatment for this in the UK, only trials. I have been told that I will probably get many recurrences due to the initial tumour spill. I had gene testing on the NHS as part of the 100,000 genome project but unfortunately my first sample failed - they have managed to get another sample but the results will take at least another  year and probably up to two years - there is a UK based company that offer detailed gene testing and that could prove very beneficial for getting trials ready for me when and if I need them. This cost around £2,500 - I am very reluctant to ask for help but I see no other option and this gene testing could really help me and many others with research in the future. If you can spare anything to help me get this testing done it would be greatly appreciated- I try not to let my diagnosis control me or stop me from raising awareness and funds to help patients with primary bone cancer but sometimes you need to ask for help for yourself and I am doing so reluctantly.
