Daniel's fight against Multiple Myeloma

Donation protected

On August 18, 2023, our hearts stopped as the doctor stood next to Daniel's bed and told us the diagnosis. It didn't seem real. How could he be this sick? Life was normal just a few short days ago and now in an instant it all changed with one phrase, " You have Multiple Myeloma".

Due to the physical demands of Daniel's profession, he is unable to work for the foreseeable future. We are asking for your kindness and support to help Daniel and his family navigate through this difficult time by making a selfless donation to help cover medical expenses as we all know cancer treatment is extremely expensive.

Daniel’s treatment plan as of now is four months of Chemotherapy, Radiation and a Stem Cell Transplant. We are praying that with God's grace he will be put into remission as this is a treatable cancer, not curable. God is good and we believe he still has big plans in mind for this family.

Anyone that knows Daniel will tell you that there are three things he takes very seriously, being a husband, father and friend. In 2020 Daniel married his best friend Reva on their five-year dating anniversary. She works as a teaching assistant for 5th grade at St. Joseph Catholic School. These two seemed so opposite, but from the time they met their worlds collided and they couldn't imagine a day without each other.

Daniel has two sons, Cody and Josh, who have grown into respectable young men with guidance and unwavering love from their dad. He coached them both in baseball when they were kids and has been dedicated to teaching them what it means to be honorable men. He has also been in Rilynn's life, his stepdaughter, since she was three. Daniel has always treated her like she was his own child and puts her wants and needs before his own. The bond they share is unbreakable. She knows that if she needs him, he will always be there for her. That kind of trust and loyalty is so important to a daughter. She is lucky to have such a steadfast and dependable dad in her life.

Daniel is also a fierce and generous friend with a giving heart. He's the kind of man that can be relied upon. He genuinely cares for people and tries to help in any way possible. If you need something you don't even have to ask - he makes it happen. His unselfish manner when it comes to helping others is really a gift to be treasured.

Daniel is in year two of a four-year apprenticeship program at JEA to become a Water Maintenance Mechanic. He worked tirelessly to get hired and to prove himself in his position. It's no easy task starting a new career when you’re almost 40 and the oldest apprentice, but with Daniel's work ethic and determination to take care of his family he made it look effortless. He never complained about the long hours, days spent in extreme heat, and strenuous work. It should have been a red flag to us once he began to seem more fatigued, have extreme thirst and experience a loss of appetite and weight. We assumed it was the job making him feel this way, but little did we know it was the cancer.

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." "You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it." Matthew 21:22

Please send all your love, prayers, positive vibes and messages of strength to get us through this season of life.
