Danilo Angeles, a recent graduate of De La Salle St. Benilde, began his J-1 internship program at Omni Amelia Island in Jacksonville, Florida in March 2016.
Unfortunately, over the last few months Danilo has been in immense pain and was misdiagnosed with sciatica. Upon consistent treatment for sciatica, and no relief for Danilo the doctors found a tumor in his back on his vertebrae which was causing his pain. After the tumor was biopsied it was found out to be cancer.
Danilo has been in the hospital for 5 days and they unfortunately found another tumor in his lung and he has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, cancer at just 20 years old. He is beginning chemotherapy and is expected to remain in the hospital for the next 10 weeks. His complete treatment is expected to take nearly a year.
Any funds donated will be to support his mother during her time in the US so that she can be by his side, any additional money will go to Danilo's ever-rising medical expenses. Danilo has been described by his friends, his employer, and his loved ones as a sweet, happy and dynamic young man.
It is urgent that you take immediate action as his insurance policy will only cover his mother's expenses for 10 days. Please, let's work to give Danilo the company of his mother during his entire course of treatment, it's the least we can do.
