Danny Bullard, Cassie Schmit Lost All To Explosion

Donation protected
On the night of February 20th, Danny, Cassie, and baby Opal's home caught fire while they were inside it.
They barely got out before the fire hit the propane tanks and exploded the home. Everything was lost. What was their home is now a pile of ash and melted metal.

What saved them was Cassie smelling smoke, Danny going out to see what it was, and both of them thinking and reacting quickly- but the closeness of the incident haunts us all. Cassie was laying down in bed with Opal and smelled smoke. She asked Danny to investigate. He went outside, saw flames, and yelled for them to run out - he didn’t even have time to go back in. Cassie leapt up and ran outside with baby Opal in her arms, followed by the two dogs. They all jumped in the car and backed it up just in time to watch their home explode.  It all happened so fast that they ran out without shoes on, grabbing nothing, not wallets, not phones, just themselves.

They lost everything to the fire.
Many sentimental items can never be replaced, but they still have to build up what they need to live their lives, even in the most basic way - from toiletries to clothing to tools Danny needs for his work, baby items, dishes, their phones, dog dishes, food, first aid kits, bedding - and the list goes on... it is hard to imagine an utter loss of all possessions. We are so so thankful for their escape from the fire and hope to get them started back on the right foot soon.

Any monetary donations are welcome.
They will use the money donated to re-build what they have lost. Please give only what you can afford, even if it is just a small amount. For example, $5 can buy diapers, or socks, or toothbrushes. $10 can buy dog food, a sleeper for Opal, a blanket. $20 can buy groceries, clothing, dishes. $100 can get Opal a new swing (she loved her swing), a carseat, or any number of things they lost. I know I repeat myself here, but they lost EVERYTHING. A larger amount of money could go towards helping to pay for a new living arrangement for the three of them.

We have reached the goal we set of $5,000!!!
This will be tremendously helpful! Anything above this will continue to help them to set up their life. Thank you to everyone!

For those of you who would like to donate clothing or other household items, you can bring donations to Jim Mayer's store: Westside Sports, in Malta, MT.
For those of you in Dillon, you can drop of items with Julie Bullard who will be going to Malta in a few days.

Some items that would be useful are:

-diapers and wipes (Opal has eczema and very sensitive skin, so she can only tolerate unscented, hypoallergenic products), board books and teething toys, cloth diapers, size 6-9 month baby clothes, size 12 baby clothes work too, a baby carrier.
-Dog items, for Copper and George (Copper loved his dog bed)
-Feminine products
-First aid kit things
-They could use all the household items: furniture, bedding, towels, pots and pans, silverware, food storage containers, small kitchen appliances like coffee pot, blender. Cassie's favorite kitchen appliance was her InstantPot.

The fire took their possessions - it was a complete loss - but it left us them, and for that we will be eternally grateful. While your donations will make it possible for them to re-start their life again more quickly, your thoughts and compassion will surely help buoy them up as they face this challenge.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity!
