Danny Howk Medical Expenses

Danny was diagnosed in August 2018 with multiple life threatening blood clots. The clots have traveled and lodged in his heart and lungs.
After an unsuccessful attempt to dissolve the blood clots with medicine-surgery is his only option.
The surgery that is required to save Danny's life is called PTE- Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy. This is a very high risk 10 hour plus surgery, requiring the same process as open heart surgery but then the doctors have to remove the clots from the artery walls that go from the heart to the lungs.
There are only two hospitals in the nation that have successfully performed this surgery. San Diego and Cleveland Clinic.
Danny has been on a waiting list but is now scheduled to have the surgery performed in San Diego.
Danny is a loving husband of 11 years and father of 2 boys-ages 8 and 5. With his declining lung capacity it is a struggle for him to continue to maintain his daily activities and routine.
Danny has been a long term valued employee at Osage Marine Services as a Captain of a tow boat working the St. Louis harbor.
We are raising funds to help offset the expenses he will incur traveling to San Diego for the surgery. He will be required to stay up to a month in the San Diego area for the surgery and rehabilitation.
These funds will help with airfare, lodging, food, loss of wages as well as offsetting the medical cost he will incur.
