Welcome to Danny’s Recovery Fund Page!!

Here you will find out about all the fantastic fundraising events & challenges that we will all be completing to help raise money for our fabulous friend Danny!

Challenge number one was the first fundraising challenge completed doing the Great Glencoe Challenge (Thanks to the brilliant Stevie & Stephen). We are onto the next ones!!

Challenge number two was completed with a walk up Ben Nevis, the British Isles highest mountain standing at 1,345 metres above sea level on Sunday 25th August 2019.

Team Danny’s walkers were: Carrots, Brian and a few others

Challenge number three was complete by walking the West Highland Way which stretches 96 miles from Milngavie to Fort William starting on Wednesday 11th September 2019 over 5 days.

Team Danny's walkers were Brian, Alan and Davie competing it in just 5 days.

Challenge number four was complete with running the Spartan Beast Race (13.1 miles) on Saturday 14th September 2019. The race is a combination of running and obstacles (30 - 35 of them to face!)

Being brave and doing that alone was Kirsty and she smashed it.

Challenge number five was complete with the team running the Glasgow Half Marathon (13.1 miles) on Sunday 29th September 2019.  All completed the marathon with brilliant timings.

Team Danny’s runners were: Carrots, Gemma, Darrell & David

Challenge number 6 was complete with running the Tweed Valey Tunnel Trail Run in Peebles (Scottish Borders) on Saturday 5th October.

Team Danny's runner: Jim

Challenge number 7 was complete with a cycle from Lambhill to Falkirk and back again (approx 45.4 miles in total) on Sunday 6th October 2019. The ladies done brilliant, some (maybe most) hadn't cycled in a very long time, there was a few hiccups with chains etc along the way, and some quite intense injury after a fall, but they kept going and completed the cycle with all of them keeping each other going!

Team Danny's cyclists were: Chelsea, Kirsty, Elisha, Charlotte and a few others.

Keep an eye on our updates section, where we will keep you all posted on our progress!

Why we are doing this:

Our friend Danny was involved in a motorcycle accident due to no fault of his own in April, leaving him paralysed from the shoulders down and needing help with extensive recovery and rehabilitation.

All the money raised will be for Danny and his family to help them with the various changes Danny is going through, as well as supporting them with what lies ahead long term, including the step of getting Danny accessible housing, so that he is able to live as independently as possible.

Danny has always been an active person enjoying life to the fullest and we want to help him achieve as much of his lifestyle as possible. Danny has fought strong from the day of the accident and keeps fighting everyday. Danny is an inspiration to us all.

Thank you all in advance for your generous donations.
