Dano Grayson - Home Fire
Donation protected
My youngest brother, Dano Grayson, just lost everything in a home fire today. Thankfully he was not home, but everything else he holds dear is now gone. I am asking anyone that can donate to please help my brother get back on his feet.
It pains me to write this, but his losses appear to be more than just material. Anyone that knows anything about Dano understands that he is an avid animal lover, and he kept many different pets and animals in his home. Today after arriving at the fire, he was forced to watch helplessly, not knowing if any of them were somehow able to make it out or not. The only known survivor was his dog, Pepper, who was with him when the fire started. Right now, our family's biggest prayer is that his cat, named Meow, was able to find her way out of the home and is safe somewhere. But as of yet, none of the animals have been seen.
If you are not familiar with Dano, he is one of the most amazing and admirable people I have ever met. That's him in the photo, doing what he loves: spending time in the outdoors with the wildlife. He asks very little of the world and just wants to bring the joys of nature into the lives of others. He followed that passion and now works as an independent wildlife photographer and even owns his small business called The Pond at Elephant Head, which he operated from his backyard. Photographers from all over the world would fly to Arizona and travel to his home in order to to work with Dano because of his amazing talent. He has traveled the world to film and photograph rare species, and he has impacted so many people by trying to teach them to share in his love of nature. We have no word yet if any of the natural eco system that he so nourished on his property is salvageable or not. His property was home to a variety of bats, birds, roadrunners, snakes, lizards, and other desert life. Knowing him, he would readily lose his house if it meant the local animals did not lose theirs.
And now, every single piece of his equipment is gone. Cameras, lenses, computers, hard drives, video equipment, lighting, etc. All of it is lost. And worse still, the entire body of his work, all of his images and his videos, were stored in his home. There was no internet provider to his home since he lives in a very rural area, so all of his work was backed up on redundant hard drives which were also in his home. His life's work has been destroyed.
We are all immensely thankful that Dano and Pepper were not harmed today, but now he is going to have to start over rebuilding his life.
Please help in any way you can, and thank you so much for supporting Dano.
