Dan’s 168 mile Montane Spine Challenger North run
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm competing in the Montane SpineChallenger North race on Jan 8 2022. It’s 168 miles unsupported along the Pennine way. I will be starting in Hawes and finishing at Kirk Yetholm, across the border in Scotland. I will have 108 hours to cover the terrain with three official checkpoints on the route. I am keen to raise money in aid of National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and every donation will help. This is a cause that sits close to my heart with two of my children being subjected to horrible abuse for a number of years. It wasn’t until March 2020 when the local authority and police intervened that they were safe and in my care. After a year long court battle, career pathway change and some grounding in an excellent school, as a family we are finally over the ordeal.
Unfortunately many children do not get rescued or the red flags are not recognised until it is to late. With the damage either irreversible or worse, fatal!
This abuse happens daily as we have seen recently on the news and I fear will never stop. All we can do is support charities and the local authorities to help the children in need. Please take the time to donate, I’m sure you would agree it’s an excellent cause and I get to suffer in the process of earning your money.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Dan.
