Darak’s Fight Against Cancer

Hi, I’m Janelle. I’m raising money to help the Tracy family tackle medical bills since Darak’s recent cancer diagnosis.

Kait has been my best friend since grade school. We’ve taken on the world together.

Enter Darak. The nicest human you’ll ever meet. Swept my girl off her feet and the rest is history.

As most of you seeing this have likely been following Kait and Darak’s updates on their socials, I’ll still provide some details about what you’re here for.

On February 16th, Darak was experiencing intense stomach pains and Kait took him to the emergency room convinced he had appendicitis. Little did they know at the the time, that would have been the best case scenario.

A CT was ordered and after the results came back, they were moved to private room. The monitor displayed his name with "admitted" below it. They weren't sure what was going on but still assumed surgery for his appendix was impending. Instead, they were told theres a 6 cm mass in his pelvis and two smaller ones on the lining to his kidney. Masses that they were concerned could be malignant.

Darak was transported to UMass Memorial in Worcester and admitted to a room. They’ve met with a dozen doctors from all different specialties, the most important being the oncologist who ordered another MRI of his back where they found a fourth tumor.

Darak has since gone through multiple biopsies and various other tests. As of 2/25 they are still waiting on an official answer as to what type of lymphoma and what stage.

Darak is a fighter. He’s been in nothing but good spirits and confident he will come out of this stronger.

I can assure you this is a battle cancer should have never shown up for.

This is still going to be a very rough journey for the Tracy family. I know that things are tight for everyone in todays world. I’m asking anyone who can spare anything at all to help with the impending bills of Darak’s treatment and whatever else the Tracy family may need, considering Darak will be out of work for quite some time.
