Darby's Defenders

Hi everyone, our names are Riley and Hayley. We are Darby's cousin and aunt. Ever since Darby was a little girl, she was able to light up a room and make everyone laugh. Her personality is infectious and everyone who knows her loves her. You can't pick your family members, but you can pick your best friends and I (Riley) am so thankful to call Darby my cousin and best friend. Darby always puts the needs of others before her own, and now it is time to return the favor.

On July 9, 2022, at only 25 years old, Darby was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer and her entire world was flipped upside down. Starting in two weeks, she will be undergoing six months of intensive chemotherapy treatments. After chemotherapy, doctors are recommending a double mastectomy. This will mean another long journey ahead of major surgeries and recoveries.

As many of you know, Darby makes her living as an amazing hair sytlist (check out her stunning work on instagram at @looksbydarby). Because of the intensity of her chemo and the nature of her job, the days she will be capable of working will be few and far betweeen. This means not only will she have extensive medical bills, but she will also not able to work to pay for normal living expenses.

We know the last few years have been diffiuclt and unusual for everyone. We appreciate any help you could provide, whether it is sharing this post or donating any amount, small or large. Our family is extremely greatful for all the love and support. We are all Darby's Defenders!
