Darby’s MCT Removal Surgery

Donation protected
A few months ago, Darby was diagnosed with a Mast Cell Tumor near his right eye. Supposedly this type of cancer is uncommon in cats, and works a little differently than MCTs in dogs. As of right now, we know that an MCT on a cat could be a manifestation of internal spread to the spleen and/or intestines. We recently ran some tests which came back as (possible) signs of early spread to his spleen. Darby is currently on steroids while we wait to resample his spleen and get a clear answer. In the meantime, we are removing the mass to send out for testing and then placing a type of skin flap so as not to affect his eyelid/how his eye closes. His recovery process will take two weeks, and then we will have some follow up which may include chemotherapy and a (possible) splenectomy down the line. This surgery alone is a lot for me to handle financially, so I’m sharing this in hopes that any of my friends and family may want to reach out and either reshare this post or donate a few bucks to support my sweet boy. We appreciate any help we can get, thank you everyone! If you have questions feel free to reach out ❤️‍
