Darius Ali Claiborn Memorial-Burial Fund

I'm writing this on behalf of all the family and friends of the Claiborn family.

On September 23rd, Darius Ali Claiborn was tragically shot and killed. A loving son, the best brother, a true friend, a cousin, loved by so many and I pray he sees just the impact he made, in what turned out to be a much shorter life than what seems fair for at the young age of 18.

Darius will be missed by his father and mother, Terry and Hannah Claiborn and his always adoring younger sister, Gianna Claiborn.

When the news came out, I remember Hannah saying, "At least we have life insurance, my son will be buried with honor and dignity."

The one blessing that WAS settled. It took such a load off, so the family could just mourn the tragic loss of their baby boy.

That came to a screeching halt on September 24th, with the news that, when Darius turned 18 it nullified his part of the life insurance policy.

What we want collectively is for Terry, Hannah Gianna and the rest of Darius's family and loved ones to be able to grieve, instead of focusing on how on how to still provide that same honor and dignity for their son. And now trying to focus on this huge family gathering that must take place and be organized, while going through the most traumatic experience a parent can even think of.

I understand, no one person can take this load off... But with community... Together we can.

For them.

For Darius.

For this one life taken too soon.
