Darla Lusk AML fund
Donation protected
My name is Suzie Turner and I am Darla Lusks sister. Darla is a 28 year old mother to a 3 year old son, Trenton. She had been feeling tired for a long time and her doctor decided to do a bone marrow biopsy because her labs were abnormal. Our worst fears came true when her doctor told her "I'm sorry but you have cancer and we have to treat this with aggressive chemo and a bone marrow transplant." Darla has acute myeloid luekemia. She
has completed her 1st month of chemo. When she is "in remission" she will get a bone marrow transplant. There is nobody in the donor system who is a 100% match but I am her "half match". Doing a half match transplant is risky for Darla but this is her only option. There's always a risk of GVHD and it is riskier with "half matches" and after the transplant will require 3-4 months of constant monitoring to watch for symptoms of GVHD. Many people have asked how they can help. Darla has so many hurdles to get through and financially this is hard on their family. We are asking for donations to help ease some of the financial stress.
