Darrell Kirkwood Sr

Hey Everyone,

My name is Mariah Kandel and daughter of Darrell Kirkwood Sr. At Thanksgiving time my dad suffered a stroke that led him to be hospitalized and he was sent to a Rehab facility/nursing home to he closer to me for his care. He spent a week in the facility and was starting to do a little better then things turned for the worst. He started to hallucinate and become very confused. As tje hallucinations got worse so did his health started to decline.

After moving my dad here and going through his paperwork he recently just got life insurance which does not cover him until after 2 years fully, so he only get a principle of what he paid into and with it being 3 months into the policy its only a few dollars. My dad never prepared himself early in life for his end of life events so here I am asking for help from family, friends and the community so we can ensure he gets his wishes.

Currently he is on life support at UTMC in Toledo and they are unsure If he will be strong enough to recover from sedation and handle breathing on his own.

This has all happened so fast and I don't know what to do or where to start.
