Darrell Thompson needs our help. You know Darrell, everybody knows Darrell. Hell, Darrell knows everybody: you, me, our parents, great-grandparents, kids, grandkids, uncles, second cousins. He's a fixture in this community, someone who mentors and teaches on and off the tennis court. This fella was dealt a huge blow that began on October 10 when he tested positive for COVID-19. He wound up in the hospital for 11 days, battling pneumonia in both lungs, a bacterial infection, low oxygen levels, an incessant high fever, trouble breathing, coughing, wheezing, you name it. Oh, I almost forgot the star of the show, what landed him in the hospital to begin with: dysentery and dehydration. That virus threw the kitchen sink at our boy. Well, he made it, thanks in part to the care of the folks at Providence, but largely to one individual, whose name rhymes with Sherwin. I've set this fundraising deal up to help Darrell and Tracy with any unforeseen medical costs, but also for the lost wages they've suffered. Darrell would never ask anyone for any help. He's a stubborn ass, just like me. But I'm asking you to help him whether he likes it or not. He deserves it. -Robert Johnson
