Darrell "Woody" Smokey

On February 28, 2024 we lost our loved one Darrell " Woody" Smokey to Colon cancer. Darrell was known to many as Woody. Darrell was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother. He was married to Elaine Dini-Whistler Smokey of Schurz over 40 years, with 2 sons, 2 daughters.. Woody was a tough cowboy who worked many rodeos behind the chutes and in the corrals at local and near by towns. Woody was a heavy equipment operator and worked for the Walker River Paiute Tribe for many years. Woody was diagnosed with colon cancer 5 years ago and given 2 weeks to live. A man of faith, Woody placed his trust in God and prayed fervently for all those around him. Woody loved his family and gave a helping hand to whoever needed it. We are raising funds to cover funeral and burial expenses during this difficult time. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated.
