Hello everyone. My name is Candace Dobransky. I am a friend of Darren and Amanda Gach.

Darren recently had a medical emergency which has set him in the ICU in the university of Alberta Hospital.

Below I will leave the most recent update from Amanda.

But first here’s just a quick note from me.

I created this go fund me to help Darren and Amanda with any expenses that will come up until Darren is able to make it back home to Peace river.

The gas, the food, the loss of income, and the costly hotel bills.

we are not sure how long Darren will remain in the hospital and until then, Amanda will not leave his side. Our community is incredible with helping their own, and I wanted to branch out to hopefully be able to help take some stress off so they can worry about Darren’s recovery.

These are the kind of people that wouldn’t think twice to give you the shirt off their back. They’re kind, generous, warm, and a HUGE part of our community. We love you so much and all of my prayers are with the both you.

now, an update from his wife Amanda.

There has been so many calls and texts that I can’t keep up.

This morning getting ready for work Darren choked on a pill and lost consciousness. I started cpr and screamed for help. The people in our building came out and called 911 for me. I tried everything I could to get him breathing but I couldn’t so I just kept doing cpr until the medics came and took over.

Cpr was performed for about 45 minutes and the outcome does not look good. He could have permanent brain damage but we don’t know yet. APL medics sedated him and paralyzed him for transport. They did scans at the hospital and they were clear but his oxygen remains low.

My medics let me see him and I kissed him and told him to fight. He is being airlifted to the U of A hospital and will be placed into ICU.

I will update everyone when I know more. Right now we need a miriacle and a prayer chain. I can not lose him.

Go ahead and text me but please hold the calls for now. It’s just too much and I don’t have answers.

And please don’t me mad that I made a post and didn’t call you personally. I just can’t deal with that right now. All of our energy has to be on the love of my life right now.
